Ripe For Incorporation: Maysville, Maine (1816-1883)

The Town of Maysville now a part of Presque Isle, once boasted of being its own community and as such has its own history separate from Presque Isle. The presentation focuses on the settling and incorporation of Maysville with particular attention to stories of the Armstrong, Ashby, Chandler, Bean, Allen, Parkhurst and Rolfe families. These families and their stories reflect the growth of Maysville from an unsettled frontier to an established farming community that made contributions to the local area, the state, and the nation.
