Perfect for kids 5 and up! Please collect cereal boxes, other cardboard packages( crackers, soda, etc.) and cardboard backings or corrugated boxes cut into 8x10 size pieces for the base. Visit http://www.michaelalbert.com to see Michael Albert's work.

 

The “Modern Pop Art Experience” includes an artist appearance, artist talk and presentation. This also includes a HANDS-ON COLLAGE WORKSHOP where participants get to create their own collages using the same materials Mr. Albert uses to create works of art. The 2-hour program finishes with a free poster give away and signing.
Perfect for kids 5 and up!
Mr. Albert was born and raised on Long Island in New York and currently lives and works in White Plains, New York. Albert is the author of an artist autobiography titled “An Artist’s America”(Henry Holt, 2008) and is nationally known for making collage artworks from cereal boxes and other printed cardboard consumer brand packages.

If you remember his last visit, Bruce is a retired police detective sergeant and bestselling author of the Detective Byron Mysteries and is as engaging in person as his characters are in his best-selling novels. Books are available for purchase at the event. If you love law and order, skilled writing, and police procedure, you won't want to miss this. Join us at the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library for the opening of Lewis Sandler’s China Photo Exhibit. This exhibit features photos of a mixture of modern and traditional China, taken during the artist’s many decades living and working in the country. This reception will run 4PM – 6PM on Friday, November 4th as a part of the First Friday Art Walk. Light refreshments will be served.
 
From the artist’s bio: “Lewis Sandler BS, JD from Massachusetts now lives in Presque Isle in his beautifully quiet, semi-secluded log cabin, and spends his free time taking and creating photographs of interesting subjects. After nearly 30 years living and working in Beijing at a prestigious science and technology university as an undergraduate and PhD instructor (English literature, Creative Writing, Beyond Science, legal English, Debate, and Photography Design), he returned home to USA in late 2019 with thousands of photos of Beijing and other places of interest around China and Asia.”

This exhibition will be available for viewing through December 30th, 2022.
